We are out of quarantine!

We are just back from Erin's 3 month post-transplant assessment in Leeds. They are very happy with how things are going and everyone was suitably impressed by how well she is looking. More than one of the team commented that it really brings it home how ill she was pre transplant when you see her looking so well now.

We had a bit of a stressful day with some issues at the ultrasound scan, the first doctor couldn't get a good trace of the flow through her hepatic artery so she asked a colleague to check but she couldn't get a good view either. So after an hour we left the ultrasound department for a clinic appointment and had to go back later for another half hour scan by another doctor. Eventually it was decided that there is nothing wrong with the artery, they could see it well enough to see it has good flow it's just difficult to see as it lies so close to the portal vein and it's difficult to get a good trace of blood flow through a vessel in such a small baby. And relax! They will probably want us back in 3 months for a repeat scan just to be on the safe side.

So all in all the trip to Leeds went very well and Erin is officially out of quarantine : D She very much enjoyed being out and about so I can't wait to get her socialising!
