Big Yellow Friday Fundraising update!

Jamie & I have been overwhelmed by everyones generosity, the money is not all 'in' yet and there is still a bit of counting to do but this is roughly what everyone has raised.

• £90 Carole McClelland & the teachers at Biggar Primary who wore yellow to school
• £140 Lisa Davidson & the Badminton girls who had a 'Come Dine with me' night
• ~£900 Stuart Fraser for losing 20lbs in weight by doing a sponsored slim, people sponsored him a £ per lb
• £1004.20 Sandra Douglas & the staff & pupils at Stanmore House School who had a coffee morning, raffle and collected enough 1p & 2p coins to lay a trail for a mile.
• £1100 Liam, Hayley & Lois McCann who ran a 5K at Strathclyde Park
• ~£5600 Jamie, Brian Davidson and Bonny who organised the Race night and raffle.

So the grand total will be around £9,000!!! How amazing is that?!




Big Yellow Race Night


We have to thank everyone who got involved, all those who attended, sponsored things and helped out at the various events. Special thanks must go to Brian & Bonny, without their help the race night would have been cancelled as we were in Leeds for so long.

The McCann's 5K run was particularly amazing as the kids are just 11 & 7 years old, they were by far the youngest runners there. Everyone was very proud of them and Lois who ran with Hayley. Liam was also running with an injury as he had hurt his wrist the day before by tripping up at school. In true 'Watt' style he was told it was fine, probably a sprain, despite his concerns that it was broken. A later trip to A&E revealed he had a green stick fracture and had ran all that way without so much as a tube grip and was quicker than the majority of adults there! Such a brave boy. He now has a story to rival my big brother Martin who broke his ankle in 2 places as a teenagers and my mum told him to splash cold water on it, by the morning they were a bit more concerned when his leg was three times the size it should have been.  When we were kids you had to have an open, bleeding wound in our house to have an injury taken seriously, I think things may be a bit different with Erin, a slight temperature and we'll be back to Yorkhill!
