The last two days have brought a gradual improvement in Erin and she is managing to smile a little and play with toys. She is feeding and sleeping better but tiring very quickly.
On Wednesday the dr's wanted to do another lumbar puncture and fit a long line but a blood sample showed her clotting factors were not great. So they gave her a vitamin K infusion but in the morning the haematologists were still not happy so they wanted 5mls more blood to check. This took all day yesterday to get results back. They showed her clotting factors were now normal so the panic was off. But as she was feeling better they couldn't justify the LP so she has been spared this for now. So now she can go to theatre for a long line but it's the weekend so it won't happen until Monday so we'll need to manage on cannulas for now.
As they are much happier with her we are allowed to go out between antibiotic treatments so we can go out for walks. We went over the road to the Kelvingrove museum for lunch, it was so nice to get out!
Unfortunately the nasty strong antibiotic is giving her diorhea so they are keeping a close eye on her fluids. So her AST & ALT levels are normal, bili is 70, CRP is 180 but her GGT is still an insane high of 1300, fingers crossed they continue to improve and Erin gets a rest from procedures over the weekend.
She now has mummy & daddy-itus, no one else will do for cuddles and she is positively angry at all nurses. It's not surprising after all she's been through but surprisingly she quite likes dr's!

I don't know I think she quite enjoyed her cuddles with Aunty Lois yesterday too x x x
ReplyDeleteYeah she did enjoy it, she made an exception for you : D, just as well you weren't wearing blue though, the nurses get dirty looks the minute they come in the room!
