Erin has a working PICC line so no more nasty cannulas : )
We didn't have long to wait as she went to theatre at 10am and smiled all the way down. It took a little longer than planned so we didn't get her back until 12.30pm. They had a problem with the anaesthetic and had to restart the procedure after the wire touched something so was no longer sterile. It was more than a bit worrying as we thought she'd only be gone an hour but at least the line is in now.
So we are waiting on bloods either tomorrow afternoon or Wednesday morning for the dr's to decide how long the antibiotics will need to continue for.
In the mean time Erin is feeling loads better and was smiling and playing as soon as she returned to the ward and filled up on milk. After a week of trying baby rice she is going to try some sweet potato tomorrow, as part of operation 'fatten Erin up'. The dietician hopes weaning now will help the reflux and put some meat on her wee skinny arms, wish me luck it could get messy!
