What a week!

Well it was my own fault for saying how well things were going! After a trip out guising on Sunday as a very cute pumpkin Erin was not very well during the night. She was up screaming with colicy tummy pains. We checked her temperature about 30 times but it was her normal 37.1 C. She wasn't much better during the day so I took her to our GP who sent us to Yorkhill to get it checked out.



We got stuck in terrible traffic going into Glasgow so we didn't get to A&E until 7pm. When we arrived they took her temperature and it was 38.4 C but she had just come out of her carseat so I wasn't surprised when it came down quite quickly afterwards. They took a blood sample to double check her levels but it was all a bit horrendous as it took 3 registrars 5 attempts to finally get a vein. The results came back fine but she had a slightly high CRP level of 68 (over 6 is an indication of inflamation) so she was admitted for observation. She had quite a settled night, probably 'cos she was knackered from all the screaming at the blood sample, so we were released home late afternoon on the understanding we had to come straight back if her temperature rose again.

We thought she was over the worst but the tummy pains have continued all week so its been a long one! The wee soul has had very little sleep and it's now Saturday and she is still not quite right so we think its been a nasty tummy bug. Thankfully it looks like nothing to do with her liver but we've been frantically taking her temperature and panicing about whether we should go back to Yorkhill.

As she was a bit better today we ventured out to the CLDF's family bowling day in Edinburgh. We met a couple of lovely families and it was nice to speak to others who have been through the same events. It was quite noisy though so it was a bit difficult to talk but Erin didn't seem to mind and slept the entire time. You really couldn't tell who the children were with any liver problems which was quite reassuring.
