Good news for a change!

We got on very well today at Yorkhill. Erin's tummy is not as swollen and she has put on weight, she is now 14lbs (6.32kg), hooray. She had bloods taken by some lovely nurses and they got a vein first time, they didn't get enough to check her coagulation but it stopped bleeding quickly so that's an improvement on last week. The results are better, heading in the right direction. CRP is now 35 (normal should be <6) and Bilirubin 37 (normal should be <15) so it looks like the oral antibiotics are keeping a lid on the infected cysts for now which means we can stay at home for Christmas : D.

Her albumin levels were also better and have risen to 27 (normal range is 30-50) so hopefully this means less ascities and a bit more weight gain. So we are to concentrate her milk a little more and continue with the tube feeding and weaning, (current favourite is banana and apple). We don't have to go back for 2 whole weeks, when they will re-check her bloods and we should have an appointment for Leeds by then.

So were are hoping for a nice quiet uneventful Christmas! Jamie's sister Marie is home for the holidays and Erin is very much besotted with her, especially all her lovely curly hair. Erin is also showing a bit more interest in the beagles and grabbing at dangly ears is also proving to be fun. The latest activity of choice is learning to blow raspberries, she can't quite master the art of blowing air and sticking her tongue out at the same time yet but we are having fun laughing at the funny faces she pulls while she learns.

Little Miss Trouble

How could she resist these ears?
