Day 10 in the Liver house

Nothing much to report from us. Erin's tummy is up a bit again so they a playing about with meds today and possibly restricting her fluid intake more. She is due to get her second baby immunisations at some point today too, boo.

We have met 3 new lovely post-transplant girls in the social hub that is the ward playroom. They are all doing very well, two were BA babies (now 6 years old & 15 months old) one recovering from liver cancer (18 months old). All had transplants around 9 months of age but you would never know to look at them! One gorgeous girly had a living donation from her brave mummy just 7 months ago. They were having lots of fun & Erin was transfixed watching them. It was great to chat to their parents and hear their stories. Although we've met so many liver families now it still breaks my heart to hear all these kids and parents have been through, their paths have never been smooth but they have got through it all.

There is a little boy on the ward (baby M) who could do with some positive vibes right now. He is a kidney patient, only 10 months old and been here since April. He is battling a few issues right now and has been in and out of ICU last week. His mum is here alone most of the time as his dad has to work and look after his brother. She is very brave and never leaves his side, the true meaning of a devoted mum.

I'm looking forward to meeting my friend Kirsty for lunch today to get out of the ward for a bit. We might get a visit from Marie too which always brightens Erin up
