Erin is listed for transplant

Erin is now officially on the transplant list......She was having a serious chat with her ducky (aka Sir Quacksalot) about it earlier but is thankfully otherwise none the wiser. Now the waiting begins.....

It's a sobering thought that we are waiting on the misery of another family to help ours, I can only imagine the courage it takes for a donor's family to give the ultimate gift of life. It most likely Erin will receive part of the left lobe of a small adult liver. I hope the families of donors know how many peoples lives can be saved and improved by one person. Their gift will ensure the donor has helped more people in their passing, not just the recipient but all of their family and friends, than most of us will ever manage in our entire lifetime.

We are staying in Leeds for now as Erin is still on iv meds and this is unlikely to change this week. We may be here until transplant time but this might be a blessing, fingers crossed Erin stays well and gets her gift soon.
