Day 15 - A new line at last

Erin in her teeny weeny theatre gown

I'm so pleased to report Erin has a new central line. It's a brovivac so it can be used for bloods as well as iv meds and fluids and stays in for months. It's going to make such a difference to us all, no more needles woo hoo! After last nights 4 attempts I told them to stop so she had no iv access and went without iv drugs but had the oral equivalents instead.

So the line was really needed today which meant it had to be done on the emergency list. She was fasted from 6.30am and didn't go to theatre until 3pm, she was hungry bungry! We got her back just after 5pm and she came round well then had a nice bottle of milk. She is still super sleepy, it's actually quite nice to see her wee body at peace.

  1. Three cheers for the central line! And good going on the eating. We got a lot of mileage out of dried mango, so long as you can get big enough pieces! Fingers crossed for the living donor tests x
