Got milk on her mind

Erin has had another good day of recovery. She slept well and greeted us with a huge smile first thing, we both nearly cried. The mornings ultrasound scan result was good so she won't need another one until Sunday. She actually quite enjoyed it and even had a little giggle at her dad, too cute!
Her blood results showed high haemoglobin levels again (12ish) so they removed more blood and replaced it with fluid to thin it down a bit. We've kind of worked out this is good in that it shows the new liver is working but they must keep the blood thinner to avoid clots so it's got to be monitored.
The hunger pangs have hit which is a good sign but she is not allowed much milk yet so she is back on the sugar water to help pacify her, ssssh don't tell our dentist. They said we'd better be careful or she'll end up with a sweet tooth (ha ha) she has little chance of avoiding that being my daughter...... They have started her on 2mls of milk an hour through her tube, yup it's a piddly amount and she is none too impressed. Every 10 hours it goes up a little so we are hoping that by mid week she might be allowed a bottle. I cannot wait to get rid of the stinky NG tube, we have a way to go before that but it will be a huge milestone when it comes.
We have both been staying at Eckersley house since the transplant and I'm actually getting sleep for the first time since Erin arrived. I feel ok leaving her as she has a nurse with her pretty much all night at the moment. I won't lie, it's been great getting some sleep, surviving on 2 hours of broken sleep a night for 6 months is officially not good for the complexion or the memory......
